“Pesach Pirates of the Caribbean” Treasure Hunt

Aims:

1) To have fun

2) To tie in the theme of treasure and Pesach (vaguely)

Trigger:

Invites: Kids are told on their invitations to dress up as pirates!

Explanation of games by Rosh pirates :)

Kids divided into 3 groups – each group given a colour – each person given a strand of crepe paper of that colour. The paper is placed VISIBLY on each person’s back – tucked into pants at the back works most effectively. Throughout their treasure hunt, maddies and members from other teams will be trying to pull their tails off as they make their way through the darkness….dum dum dum…If 3 or more ‘tails’ are lost, kids must return to headquarters and receive new ones. Bonus prizes for the group with the most stolen tails at the end :)

Kids receive a clue for the next station and piece of a puzzle at each station.

2 maddies per group.

Spider Web and Crack the Code

Spider web with string in the trees – group has to get all members through

A piece of paper is given to the group, along with a code. Group has to reshuffle the code in order to get their next clue and puzzle piece.

Shuffle across red sea / black bags and Memory station – 10 plagues–

2 Black bags placed on floor – whole team has to move from one designated area to another – without falling of the bags.

The card memory game. Group has to remember where the cards were and match up pairs. Once they have all the pairs they can get their next clue and puzzle piece.

Matza making

Make matza! Woo! Bake it and eat it during the reward later…They receive their clue and puzzle piece once they’ve cheered their heads off.

Rope around bottle floating in water

They have to loop rope around the bottle floating in the water and, as a team, lift it up and carry it to shore. (It’s hard!)

They receive their clue and puzzle piece once the bottle is on land.

Frog green paint

All sing the “mm-mm” frog song! J

Group has to paint a member of their team green and frog-like…Eyeees…

They receive their clue and puzzle piece once a believable frog has been created…

Sikkum

Everyone back to “X Marks the Spot” from the final clue of where to be sent.

Groups put puzzle together. Bonus prize for group which finishes first. Yay! Puzzle completed! You found the treasure! Woo!
