23/03/2010

TaMaR convention of 2010 was an amazing experience for all it's 22 participants, young adults from all over the world (Israel, UK, USA, Germany, Spain, Poland, Hungary, France, Russia, Ukraine, Belarous, Panama, Brazil and South Africa) came together to discuss issues most important to them.

…It was the 13th time that TaMaR conducted its annual worldwide gathering in Israel. This time the major theme of the event directed the participants to "Follow the footsteps of David Ben Gurion" – to the Negev desert. The event therefore moved on for the weekend from Jerusalem down (Ben Gurion use to say – Up) to the Southern Negev, to both of our Reform Kibbutzim – Yahel and Lotan. Then, after an evening visit to Eilat, the participants went on to Sdeh Boker, David Ben Gurion's Kibbutz in the Negev, where they had the chance to learn about his life and vision. They also met with Amram Mitzna, appointed Mayor of Yerocham, were they learned about the historical problems and the current efforts to push things foreword.
The TaMaR Kenes ended back in Jerusalem, in Beit Shmuel – the worldwide center of the Progressive movement, where the participants dealt with various issues and agreed on ways to deepen future communications and activities.
